About UDA News

An independent Kenyan broadsheet, built for the digital newsroom.

UDA News reports on Kenyan politics, devolution, business, and civic life, with a clearly-labeled opinion desk that keeps commentary distinct from reporting. We are open to advertising, sponsored analysis, and brand partnerships — always disclosed, never disguised.

Our mission

We exist to give Kenyans a credible, close-to-the-ground account of the institutions and decisions that shape daily life — from Parliament and the courts to county assemblies and ward offices. Our reporting favors verifiable public fact over speculation, and our commentary desk argues openly, in its own words, always under an unmistakable label.

UDA News is privately funded through advertising, sponsored analysis, and brand partnerships. None of these commercial relationships shape a single editorial decision. Sponsored content is written independently of the newsroom and is labeled SPONSORED at every point of publication, in the same type size as the headline it accompanies.

What we stand for

Accuracy first

Every report is checked against public record before publication. Our Fact Check desk carries clearly labeled verdicts, and corrections are issued transparently.

Clear labeling

News, opinion, analysis, and sponsored content are never blurred together. Anything that isn't straight news is marked at the top of the piece, always.

Editorial independence

Advertising and brand partnerships never influence a newsroom decision. Commercial content is walled off from editorial and always labeled SPONSORED.

Kenya, closely covered

From national politics to the 47 counties, our correspondents and columnists report on the institutions and communities shaping the country.
