Health officials report continued year-on-year declines in reported malaria cases in counties targeted by the latest round of the national insecticide-treated bed net distribution campaign.
The campaign, conducted periodically in malaria-endemic counties, is complemented by community health worker outreach and indoor residual spraying programs in the highest-risk areas.
Remaining Challenges
Officials note that case reduction has been uneven, with some counties bordering lake and coastal regions still reporting higher case rates that require sustained, rather than one-off, intervention.
