Kisumu County's long-discussed lakefront redevelopment plan has moved into a more detailed planning phase, with county officials presenting updated designs to residents this month.
The plan includes new public spaces, upgraded jetties, and commercial areas along the Lake Victoria shoreline, an area that has seen limited formal development for decades.
Community Concerns
Some traders currently operating informally along the lakefront have raised concerns about relocation, prompting county officials to say a resettlement and compensation framework will be published before construction begins.
