Machakos County has completed renovation and equipping of several rural dispensaries, part of a phased plan to strengthen primary healthcare infrastructure across the county.
The upgrades include new maternity wings, cold-chain storage for vaccines, and additional staff housing intended to improve retention of healthcare workers in rural postings.
Persisting Gaps
County health officials acknowledge that staffing shortages, rather than infrastructure alone, remain the primary constraint on service delivery in several of the upgraded facilities.
